Privacy Policy — DeafDigits Inc Apps

DeafDigits Inc ("we," "us," "our") operates the following mobile applications: The ASL App, The ÍTM App, and App LSQ (each an "app," collectively the "apps"). Each app offers the same core learning experience in a different sign language and shares identical data practices, so this single Privacy Policy applies to all three. This Privacy Policy explains what information our apps access, collect, and share, and your choices regarding that information.

Information We Collect

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or any other information you would type in to use any of our apps.

Our apps do, however, work with a small number of third-party services that automatically collect limited technical data:

  • Crash and diagnostic data (Firebase Crashlytics). When an app crashes or encounters an error, we use Google's Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs and basic device information (device model, operating system version, app version). This is used solely to identify and fix bugs and improve app stability. This data is processed by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.

  • Advertising (Google Ads). The free version of each app displays ads served through Google's advertising platform. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), IP address, and general device and usage information, and may use this information for ad personalization. You can limit ad personalization at any time through your device settings (Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization) or through Google's Ads Settings.

  • In-app purchases. Our apps offer optional paid content bundles. All purchases are processed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play Billing. We do not receive, process, or store your payment card information.

We do not use cookies or tracking technologies of our own, and we do not operate any analytics tools beyond the crash reporting and advertising services described above. This applies identically across The ASL App, The ÍTM App, and App LSQ.

How We Use Information

  • Crash and diagnostic data is used only to identify, diagnose, and fix technical problems and to improve app performance.

  • Advertising data is used by Google to serve and measure ads shown in our apps.

  • We do not sell personal data, and we do not use any data for purposes beyond what is described in this policy.

Third-Party Services

The following third parties may process limited technical data as described above, each governed by its own privacy policy:

We do not otherwise share personal or sensitive user data with third parties, and we do not sell user data.

Children's Privacy

Our apps are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address below and we will delete it promptly.

Data Retention and Deletion

We do not maintain user accounts or personal profiles, so there is no personal data for us to retain or delete on request. Crash logs and advertising identifiers collected by Google/Firebase are retained according to their own retention policies, linked above. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier at any time through your device settings.

Account deletion: None of our apps require or offer account creation, so there is no in-app account to delete. (If account functionality is added to any app in the future, this section must be updated to include an in-app and web-based account deletion mechanism, per Google Play policy.)

Security

We rely on our third-party service providers (Google Firebase, Google Ads, Apple App Store, Google Play) to handle the limited technical data described above securely, including transmission over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

International Users

If you use any of our apps from outside the United States, your information may be processed by our third-party service providers in the United States or other countries. By using our apps, you consent to this processing. Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Canada, or California may have additional rights regarding their data under applicable law; contact us at hello@theaslapp.com with any such request.

Our apps may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site before providing information to it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
